WOOLSTON NOTES.

Personal. At a social held by members of the Woolston Methodist choir on Tuesday evening, a presentation was made to Mrs Seymour Sutherland, who has been assistant organist for seven years, "and ■who will continue in that capacity. Mr Laurence Bickard, the new organist, was also welcomed. Woolston Park. Several tons of earth have been used to fill up a portion of the park which had sunk several inches. The drain which goes through the Park is being re-covered. When this work is concluded it is intended to plant several new flower beds 011 tho Ferry road frontage. Anchor Lodge. The fortnightly meeting of the Anchor Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held on Tuesday evening, Arch-Druid Bro. Hopping presiding over a well-attended meeting. Several accounts, also sick pay amounting to £l4 6s Sd, were passed for One new candidate was elected and duly initiated into the Order. During the evening the officers Oi. the Royal Arch Chapter took over the chairs of the Lodge, and conducted a Vice Arch ritual competition, m which several members competed. Past Granc President Bro. F. George, Past Grand President Bro. J. W. Batv, and Immediate Past Grand President Bro. I. Burgess acted as judges during t&e evening The first and second prizes were obtained by Bro. A. Large, Ivy of Linwood, 240 points, and Bro. J. Williams, Ivy of Linwood, 239 points, respectively. The points awarded _ the various Lodges were: Ivy of -Unwood 20, Lily of Eichmond 7, Oak ot Sydenham 4, Pioneer 2, Anchor 2, and Mistletoe 2. . . \n apology was received from tne Grand President, Bro. Morrison, for his non-attendance at the function. \ hearty vote of thanks was conveyed to the judges for their services.
