ALTERED SCALE FOR EATINGHOUSES. The By-laws Committee reported to the City Council last evening: The following license fees a r e charged under By-law No. 12 in respect of eating-houses: £ 8. d. Not exceeding 25 persons, ... 1 10 0 Exceeding 25 and not exceeding 50 persons ... ... 2 10 0 Exceeding 50 persons and not exceeding 100 persons 3 15 0 Exceeding 100 persons ... 5 0 0 It has been reported to the Committee that the fee payable in respect of eating-houses naving accommodation for not more than 25 persons has been the means of compelling a number of people to go out of business, and it is therefore recommended that the by-law be amended by altering the scale of fees to the following : £ a. d. Not exceeding 12 persons 0 10 0 Exceeding 12 and not exceeding 25 persons ... 1 0 O Exceeding 25 and not exoeedine 50 persons ••■ 2 0 0 Exceeding 50 and not exceeding 100 persons ... 3 15 0 Exceeding 100 persons ... 5 0 0 The alteration in the fees to take effect as from January Ist, 1930. The clause was adopted.
