LYTTELTON.

The usual monthly meeting of the Lyttelton Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms on Tuesday evening, when there were present: Mesdames Sutton, Comer, Preston, Tylee, Wilson, Shepheard, Stanley Stephens, Mahar, Buchanan, and Chrisp. In the absence of Mrs Gilmour, Mrs Sutton presided. Apologies were received from Mesdames H'nind, Hendry, Potts, and Gilmour. The committee expressed great satisfaction at the result of the carnival dance held recently with the assistance of the various sports club 3. Nurse Twentyman's report for June in Lyttelton and Akaroa districts was as follows:—Lyttelton: Visits to rooms, adults 80, babies 75, pre-school children 20, new case 1; visits to homes, new cases 16, old cases 36. Heathcote: 18. Akaroa and Duvauchelles: Visits to rooms, adults 30, babies 30> pre-school children 7; messages by telephone, 13.
