DISARMAMENT TO THE FORE. BRITISH POLICY CAUSE FOB I SPECULATION. {TTXTTBD PSESS A3SOCUTIOS—ST EiSCTBJC TELZG3APH— COFTSISHT.; LONDON, June 11. There are already indications that the League Assembly at Geneva on October 2nd will be of absorbing interest. The mere fact that the Prime Minister (Mr Mac Donald) is going, in addition to Mr Arthur Henderson (Foreign Secretary), whose chief platform is world pacification, indicates that disarmament is going to be the big subject. A well-informed observer told the Australian Press Association that Britain was going to make a strong effort to extricate the subject from the realm of academic discussion and to get something practical done. In this respect Mr Mac Donald would have etrc-112 support from the smaller States, which last year vainly tried to have a definite date fixed for a World Disarmament Conference. The correspondent notes an undercurrent of German anticipation that things are going to be accelerated, and likewise some anxiety in France that the Assembly may mfstakenly take the bit in its teeth. Profound interest will attach to the policy of the British Empire bloc, especially in the light of the Protocol blunders which were narrowly averted in 1924.—Australian Press Association. INTERNATIONAL LABOUR OFFICE. MR 3LACDONALD'S CORDIAL MESSAGE. OFFICIAL WIRELESS.,. RUGBY, June 11 In a cordial message yesterday expressing at the earliest opportunity the goodwill of the British Government to the President and leaders of the International Labour Organisation, the Prime Minister stated: "We are deeply sensible of the work performed by the International Labour organisation with a view to the improvement of conditions of labour throughout the world in furtherance of the aims of the Peace Treaty." In reply the President of the Conference expressed the hearty thanks of the Conference and added: "The Conference warmly welcomes your assurance of the whole-hearted co-operation of your Government, and keenly appreciates the value of your collaboration in furthering the aims of the International Labour Organisation."'
