FIRE IN THE MAHENO.
(JBE33 ASSOCIATION TELZGEAJt.) WELLINGTON, June 11. Prior to the departure of the Maheuo from Lyttelton last night it was discovered that fire had broken out in a fan trunk in the stokehold. The fire, which is thought to have been caused by spontaneous combustion, was suppressed in about 20 minutes, without any damage to the ship or danger of it spreading.
