TEAM WITHDRAWN.

WOOLSTON CLUB'S ACTION. The Woolston Rugby League Club has withdrawn its senior team as an expression of dissatisfaction with the action of the Centre in overruling the club's refusal to grant a transfer to J. Mundy from Woolston to Hornby. Notice of the withdrawal was received yesterday by the secretary of the Canterbury Rugby League (Mr S. M. Richardson). Mundy played with the "Woolston senior team in the 1928 season. lie did not resign from the club, but three weeks ago asked for a clearance, as lie desired to transfer to Hornby. The club refused this. Mundy appealed to the Centre, who overruled the club's decision and granted the transfer. The Centre expressed the opinion that Mundy was entitled to his clearance as he was financial with the Woolston Club, and because the secretary of the club, Mr W. Main, had given no reason why Mundj's transfer should be refused.

At a meeting of Woolston Club members, held last night, the secretary, Mr V. Main, stated that the club's withdrawal would come before the Centre on Monday evening. Until then he desired to say nothing. The club's action had been confirmed by the members.

ASSOCIATION.

TO-DAY'S ATTRACTIONS. "What promises to be an even contest is the game between Technical Old Boys and £3t. Albans, to be played at English Park to-day. The latter team put up a strong iigbt against Thistle, the leaders in-the cup" competition, and -appear to be on the point of repeating their usual custom of coming with fruitful efforts as the season advances. "Tech." - are becoming more settled as a team, and expect to convert the stream of adversity into a flood of success. With fewo snch evenly-matched teams as opponents ?the spectators can look forward with confidence to the prospect of a colourful game, marked by brightness and progressive movements. Two games are Bet down for Hagley Park. Brighton meet Sumner, while Thistle engage Villa in a friendly contest. Both seaside teams are performing well, and the meeting sbould create interest. Western and Kaiapoi will try conclusions at Ksiapoi. The latter are set a difficult task to triumph, and the outcome will indicate their chance against the teams higher upon 6n the championship list. Local enthusiasts cab anticipate an exciting afternoon. The Nomads-Rangers game, to be played at Richmond Park, will probably find Nomads prevailing.
