The iiuestion of applying to the -Sew Zealand Hockey Association for a match was left to the Finance and iimergeney Committees, with power to act alter receiving lutormation from the Kugby Union as regards finance. The 'Varsity Club were granted permission for a team to travel to Wellington. The club also intimated that their third grade team would bo compelled to default in its matches on May 11th, 18th, and 25th iusl. The New Zealand Hockey Association wrote intimating that en invitation had been extended to the Australian Hockey Association to send a team to tour New Zealand in July and August, but no detiuitc dates had been arranged so far, but probably the team would be leaving New li.aland on August 10th. The letter also intimated that a special meeting of the Association would be held on May 15th to discus 3 two notices of motion regarding the alteration of boundaries in North Island districts. The Secondary Schools' Girts Garner Association were granted the use oi the groy.ius at Hagley Park on Wednesday afternoons subject to the approval of the Grounds Committee. The Geraldine Hockey Association wrote inviting a colts' team to play at Geraldine at an early date, and the selector was asked to arrange for a team on June 3rd if possible. The Emergency Committee reported that a lecture to hockey"players and referees -would be given by Mr S. G. Holland in the Y.M.C.A. on May 20th. The Grounds Committee reported that the grounds at Hagley Park were being used bylads on Sundays, and it was decided to report the matter to the Pomains Board. Several c!ubs were reported to have played unregistered members, and the matter v;as left to the chairman and register-keeper to deal with. The Primary Schools' Committee reported an entry of nineteen teams, and it had been necessary to arrange for a 0 grade. No primary schools matches would be played on May 18th and 25th on account of tho school holidays. Mr H. H. Sampson reported that he had received a cup for t»> fifth grade competition from Electrical Imports, Ltd., to be called the Hoover. Cup. In presenting the cup to the Trinity Club, •who won the fifth grade last year, the chairman said he wished to place on record the generosity of the donor, Mr Scott Ramsay. It was decided to record tho committees appreciation of the chairman's efforts in securing tho cup. Mr Sampson mentioned the formation of a Hockey Club at Rakaia, and asked that clubs be requested to send teams to play at Rakaia when possible. Mr L.
