RUGBY LEAGUE.

CANTERBURY EXECUTIVE. The .4xeeutivs of, tfc*. ; -s»nterbury Rugby League met last evening, Mr J. K. Worrall (chairman) presiding. Dr. H. T. J. Thaeker (president) was among those present. Mr H. Pannells, delegate for the Woolston Club, reported that Swanson, captain of its junior team, had been suspended by tho club's committee for two playing Saturdays, and another member of the team for the rest of the season. The latter is a senior, and had turned out for the junior team. The executive decided to take no further action, but Mr Worrall warned Swanson, who was present, that the executive viewed the breach seriously. J. H. Mundy wrote asking that the League sanction his transfer from Woolston to Hornby. Messrs Pannells and L. Cox disagreed as to whether Woolston had definitely refused Mundy a clearance. It wa* decided to refer the application back to the Woolston Club for further information. Saturday's Matches. The following is the draw for Saturday:— Senior —Hornby v. The Soccer season finished with Sheffield Wednesday team champions with 52 points, and Leicester City second with 50 points. Bury and Cardiff, with 31 and 29 points, were relegated to the Second Division. Middlesbrough and Grimsby, with 55 ard 53 points, were promoted. Portvale and Clapton Orient, with 34 and 32 points, were relegated from the Second to the Third Division. In the southern section of the latter Charlton and Crystal Palace headed the list with 50 points each, bat the chainDionahip goes to the former, which has a better goal average. In the northern division of League 3, Bradford City is top with 68 paints, and along with Charlton is promoted to League B.—United Servioe.
