PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY. The Oamnru Jockey Club's Winter Meeting will be held to-day. The course is likely to be in good order as a result of recent rain, and with strong fields engaged in each event some interesting racing should be witnessed The first race is timed to start at 12 o'clock. KaiKahu would beneiit by his effort in the hurdle race at the same Meeting, and promises to offer most opposition to Troilus, while of the remainder Te Maui will be in demand. Buoyant has been rehandicapped 71b for his Amberley victory, but this should not stop him from again being a difficult proposition. He has made gradual improvement during the past couple of months, and is very well at present. Gay Sonnet did not work too well on Thursday, and unless the track becomes heavy in the meantime her chances do not look hopeful. Evening ran a good race at Amberley under difficulties, and it would not be surprising to see a big improvement in her to-day. Amor was disappointing at Amberley, but the Oamaru track may suit him better. Eoyal Saxon and Wingatui will probably carry the confidence of ' southerners, while Tardy appeals amongst the light-weights. On recent form, however, Buoyant, Amor, and Evening comprise a likely trio to contest the final issue.

Arrowmir will be favoured by a distance which suits him, and he and .Waving Corn will probably dispute favouritism. Winsome Boy j will be produced, and on Amlierley form cannot be overlooked. Speculation will be well divided, and Waving Com, Arrowmir, and Winsofne Boy will prob- , ably carry most money.

Winsome Boy, Paper Boy, and Waterlow may be on hand at the finish.
