MAN DROWNED.
FELL FROM WELLINGTON
WHARF.

WELLINGTON, December 26. Charles A. Rodman, between 45 and 50 years of'age, was drowned in Wellington Harbour last night. It is stated 1 that Rodman was drinking with 1 a companion" shortly before 9 o'clock on the Jervois quay a }J< when'he slipped and -:fell over the side into the .water. The water was dragged; but no trace of the. man could be found. Dragging was continued this morning, and the body was recovered at midday. At present little is known, about the deceased, who served.in the war. His companion was arrested on a charge of. drunkenness, and,was,dealt\with in the Magistrate's Court!tliis morning.
