VETERANS' HOMES.
AN R.S.A. PROPOSAL. [THE PBBBS Bp«W Serrlce-J DUNEDIN. November 28. At a meeting of the executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association a letter was received from the Christchurch Association on the matter of Veterans' Homes in the Dominion. It was explained that a recommendation was made at the last annual conference that a special committee be set up to obtain evidence on the matter and report four months before the next annual. conference. The Christchurch Association pointed out that as time was gbing on and there was evidence of the need of such a home, something should be done by the South Island Associations. The Association therefore suggested that a South Island conference be held in Dunedin at an early date, each Association to be repres ©ll ted The secretary (Mr J. M. White) reported that he had evidence of at least six men in Dunedin who wouldbe eligible for admittance into such a home. ' A full discussion then took place, and it was finally decided that the principle of the conference be approved and that the suggested agenda be.referred back to the sub-committee for suggestions to be made and forwarded to the Christchurch executive. It was pointed out bv the executive that the o.uestion of the location of any such home should be viewed as a Dominion matter.
