GRAND THEATRE.
"Brigadier Gerard," an excellent drama which is being ehown at tho Grand Theatre this week, reflects the machinations of a dictator beset by a world of enemies and tfce chicaneries of his foes, the intrigues of his Ministers, and the loyalty of thoso who have enlisted in his Rod La Rocquc's fine horsemanship stands him in good stead as the hero, and Phyllis Haver is beautiful, as all women spies should be, as the Countess do La-una-y. Is Taleyiand, Sam de Oriasse achieves a complete success. The supporting films are very entertaining, an International newsreel including pictures o£ the Marathon race across tho United States organised by Mr C. C. Pyle. "Fair and Muddy" deals with the sad experience of an elderly spinster who takes a carload of urchins from an orphanage on an excursion.
