EVENING SPORTS MEETING.
Tha Combined Christchurch Athletic Clubs held their first evening meeting of the season yesterday, at English Park. Competition was keen, and some good form was displayed despite the fact that it was the commencement of the season. The results of the evening's competitions were:— 100 Yards. (first-class) —First heat: B. Cordery 1, A. Clark 2, H. Caldwell 3. Second heat: T. Blakeway 1, E. Todd 2, G. ■ Murray 3. Final: Cordery 1. Blakeway 2, Clark 3. - • 100 Yards, (aocond-claas) —First heat: J. Drum 1, J fiarbutt 2. Second heat: R. Mallock 1, L. R. Harrington 2. Third heat: R. Robinson 1, W. Lightfoot 2. Final: Mal[ock 1, Robinson-2 t -Harrington 3. 880 Yards—L. E. Smith 1, W. Dromgool 2, R. Poff 3. One Mile Cycle Rac^—-First heat: R. Ferguson 1, L..Pearce.2, T. Gilford 3. Second beat: S. Campbell 1, A. Mackie 2, Lamb arson 3. Final: Campbell .1, Ferguson 2, Mackie 3. ' Mile Inter-club Relay—Simmer-New Brigh;on defeated Technical, 'Varsity, defeated Sydenham, and C.A C. defeated the combined DM Boya-Mariet-Y.M.C.A. team. Next Tuesday another evening meeting rill, be held at English Park.
