MAGISTERIAL. SATURDAY. (Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) SENTENCE DEFERRED.Thomas Patrick Murphy, an old man, on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, a condition being that he remain in the Aahburton Old Men's Home for twelve months. JUVENILE COURT. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M. and Mr W. M. West, J.P.) TO BUILD AEROPLANE. Charged with having stolen a quantity of tools, valued at 255, in Sydenham on October Bth, a young boy explained that he borrowed the tools to build an aeroplane. He returned them shortly. after and had no intention of stealing them. Sergeant Hyland explained that the offence occurred juat after tho arrival of the Southern Cross. The boy was inspired with the idea of building an aeroplane. He had returned the tools between the time of the complaint about the supposed theft and institution of police enquiries. The police wore satisfied he had no intention of stealing the tools. "You must not touch anything that does not belong to you," said Mr Young-. Tho charge was dismissed. STONE-THROWING. Three lads, two aged 12 and the other 14, who were charged with having thrown stones and damaged electric bulbe at Bromley, the property of the Heathcote County Council, were admonished. Their parents were ordered to make good the damage. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. A lad of 14 years of age was charged with having used obscene language at Belfast on September 15th. , The Child Welfare Officer stated he bad spoken to the boy at the request of the mother about using bad language. The boy promised not to use bad language again, and the case was adjourned for six months.
