THE MODERATOR.

TERM OF OFFICE EXTENDED. At yesterday's meeting of the Christ- j church Presbytery the Rev. T. W. Armour, who has been Moderator for the past twelve mouths, was appointed to office for another twelve months. The object of extending the appointment over that period is to enable.the: Presbytery to hold -future elections after the Genera! Assembly. The clerk reported that at the last election it had been decided that the' Moderator should remain in office for twelve months. The Rev. R. M. Ryburn suggested that the present Moderator should hold the position for a further twelve months, so that he could, while still closely in touch with the work of the Presbytery, be the , representative to General Assembly. ."If I do a double turn I hope I won't be put in penal servitude for-life," Mr Armour said.
