HINDS SPORTS.
A SUCCESSFUL MEETING
The annual sports meeting of the Hinds Athletic Club, which was held in the Do'main on Saturday, proved successful, although the threatening weather in the morning was not conducive to a good attendance. A large crowd attended from Ashburton in the afternoon, however, and the events were followed with interest throughout. The programme was late in starting, but the events were disposed of up' to schedule before tho conclusion. The entries were comparatively good, and many of the finishes "were very close. The arrangements in connexion with the meeting were conducted in a creditable manner by Messrs J. McDowell and W. Middlemiss, 'joint secretaries, assisted by a large band of officials.
