NARROW ESCAPE.
FIREPROOF AIR-SUIT FAILS TO ACT. AN UNENVIABLE EXPERIENCE. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPTBIGHT.) (AUSTRALIA!? AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received March 112 th, 7.30 p.m.) PARIS, March 11. Mademoiselle Suzanne Biqet, the wellknown airwoman, narrowly escaped burning and death at Vincennes while testing a nou-inflammable air suit of her own invention. Clad in a silvery-looking overall, helmet, and gloves, which were coated with a species of white cream, Mile. Biqet demonstrated to a small crowd. The suit was plentifully besprinkled with methylated spirits. It was then set on fire. At first all went well, and when the suit was full ablaze a voice from the midst of the flames said, "I do not even feel warm."
Half a minute later, however, a shriek of agony was heard, and the non-inflammable suit was on fire. Three soldiers hurriedly enveloped the living torch in blankets and extinguished the flames.
Mile. Biqet was not seriously injured, but was disinclined to repeat the experiment.
