NEW BROMLEY SCHOOL.
OFFICIAL OPENING. The new school at Bromley was officially opened on Saturday night by Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., in the presence of a large gathering. The chairman of the school committee said they had waited long and patiently before getting the school remodelled. On behalf of the school committee and people he thanked Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., for his untiring efforts with the Board.
Mr Sullivan congratulated the residents on the new school, and then formally declared it open. There were several other speakers, among whom were Mr E. J. Howard, M.P., several past-chairmen of the school committee, and several exteachers.
During tho evening, Mrs Christian, who has been secretary to tho school committee for some years, received a gold wristlet watch from the parents of the" district.
A social and musical evening followed and then a short dance. The school now has three up-to-date class-rooms, with accordion doors as one partition. A welcome addition is a new heating system.
