Labour Conference. London, February 28.—The agendaof the British independent Labour Party Conference at. Norwich, on April 7th, includes resolutions favouring a six-hours' day in the nationalised ccal industry, a living wage for allworkers, the ratification of the Washington nours convention, .training schemes for land workers desiring to work in England or abroad, arbitration in international disputes, a compulsory British-American . arbitration treaty, and also condemning the Government's support of films glorifying war. Britain's Unemployment. • Rugby, February 28—The latest official return gives the total number of unemployed at 1,136,700. This is 23,072 less than the week before, and 59,359 less than a year ago. • Goldsmith Manuscript Sold. London, February 28.—An autographed manuscrint verse by Oliver Goldsmith was auctioned and realised £5600.
