(MESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, December 31. Edward John Mackay, for the theft of a violin, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. The chief detective said that accused, a ship's steward, came to the Dominion in September, 1926, atd had spent all his time in New Zealand in gaol. __________
