GREAT WRITER'S BRAIN.

RESULT OF POST-MORTEM.

(by cable—priss association—copyright.) (australian and n.z. and sun cablb.)

(.Received November 9th, 8.40 p.m.)

PARIS, November 8.

Dr. Dubreuil, Dr. Chamberdel, and Dr. Louis, who, in 1922, held a postmortem on the brain of Anatole France in similar circumstances to those on Goethe, Byron, and Gambetta, to-day disclosed the result to the Academy of Medicine. The weight was only 3G ounces, 12 ounces below normal, but they pointed out that weight had no direct relation to i lellect.

Anatole France's special peculiarities caused a marked increase in the area of grey matter; otherwise, what was lost in weight was gained in content. The doctors concluded that the shape of the brain was admirable. It was comparable with certain Louis XV. clocks, containing mechanism of perfect precision.
