QUEENSLAND BUSH FIRES.
MAN BURNED TO DEATH.

BRISBANE, September 21. Busli fires in the Esk district caused very considerable damage to property and fencing, residents lighting the flames, which camo to within half a mile of Esk township. A man named Julius Schulz, who was trapped by flames, was so seriously burned that he succumbed. NO SIGNS OF DIMINUTION. (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received September 21st, 7 p.m.) BRISBANE, September 21. Bush fires continue to sweep the Esk district north of Ipswich. Many thousands of acres have been burned out, and miles of fencing destroyed. The fires show no signs of diminishing, ana many outlying settlements are endangered. ..
