RIVER LAUNCH FOUNDERS. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPIRIOHT). (AUSTRALIAN AMD N.Z. CABLS ASSOCIATION.) SHANGHAI, September 20. Three hundred Chinese perished when a motor-boat plying between Tsingtao and Hung Shi-hai sprang a leak and foundered. There were over 400 Chinese aboard. An American warship rescued 100. The Japanese captain of the launch was arrested for negligence and the Chinese owner fl^d.
