FLY-FISHING.
MISTAKE IN LICENSES. "When the minutes of tlie North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society were road at the meeting last evening, itwas discovered that a mistake had been made in the printing of the licenses in connexion with artificial fly and minnow fishing in the Selwyn.
The minutes stated: "It was resolved that in connexion with the coming fishing season, that artificial minnow and fly fishing only be allowed in the Selwyn'from the Selwyn traffics bridge and all its tributaries from October Ist and ending April 30th." Mr G; Stokell stated that the wrong bridge had been mentioned. It was not the Selwyn traffic bridge that was intended, but the Ellesmero -bridge. This mistake meant that there could be wo'rm-flshing between the two bridges and that was what they were trying to prevent. The secretary (Mr Kerrey) stated that he had had licenses printed from the rough copy of the motion. Mr G. Stokell moved that the word "Selwyn" deleted from the licenses, and' "Ellesmere" be substituted, and that all licenses issued be re-called, and tho necessary .alterations made. The motion was carried.
