A motor accident occurred on Suri- ' day afternoon during a gal© in a per- , fectly level, straight road, about two miles from Dannevirke. A car driven by Percv Meakin (17), with whom there were his two sisters, Alice and Gwen. and also Misses P. Haines and M Mallett, while going along Law s road suddenly swerved and overturned. I The occupants were thrown out and all injured except the driver. Gwen Meakin, with a fractured arm and suffering from shock, and Miss Mallett,, severe concussion and abrasions, were the worst sufferers. . They are at present in hospital. The car was much damaged, all the spokes being smashed in three wheels. It is surmised that the wind tinder, the hood of the car, causing the driver momentarily to lose control.
