HOCKEY.
MOUNT PALM SHIELD. The last of the. games for the season in the competition for the Mt. Palm Shield was played at. Waiau on Saturday afternoon between teams from the Waiau and the Culverden Ladies' Hockey Clubs, when an interest ing match resulted in a draw, ouo goal each. Mr H; B. Clark was referee. The positions of the competing teams are as follows: — Cheviot 13, points, Hanmer 10 points, Rotherhara 9 points, Waiau 7 points,- Culverdeu 1 point. The winning team, Cheviot, will play a match with Sheffield, the winners of the Malvern Shield, at' Cheviot on' September 17th, and the-Mt. Palm Shield will'be presented to the Cheviot team at a .function to be held at Kotherbam at the end of September.
