FIRES.
GORSE FIRE AT SUMNER. The fircbcll at Sumner was sounded at about 10 o'clock on Sunday evening, a lire having broken out in some gors-:-at the bottom of the hill near the gasworks. The brigade turned out, but its services were not required, a.: the fire very soon* burnt itself out. : Tho need for protection against fire loss is obvious.
