SPEEDING ON FERRY ROAD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PBES3. Sir,—May I ask ? little space in i your paper to call attention to the i speeding of the motor-hogs on Ferry 1 road on Saturday nights ? The i last ■ few weeks have been appal- j ling, and it seems to be worse , each Saturday night. Last Saturday, about 7.55, two motor-cars and two motor-cycles raced from Fitzgerald avenue to Armstrong's Corner, the race going to the motorcycles, much to their own amusement, i Then at about 10.30 the road was a i common speedway. Every one return- t jng from town by motor seemed to haive a kink for racing. Four motorcycles raced at once down the road ] and the noise was terrible. Then cam© i
along two more with aluminium tor-pedo-shaped sidecars carrying passengers, and they were the worst of the lot. Surely something can be done, because, apart from the danger at corners, the noise they make is terrible and the grinding of brakes when they have to pull up must cause fright to anyone who may be ill.—Yours, etc., PEDESTRIAN.
