OBITUARY.

MR HARMAN P. FINEMORE.

Commercial circles throughout the Dominion will learn with regret of the death of Mr Harman P. Finemore, which occurred early yesterday morning. .The late Mr Finemore, who was sixtyseven years of age, was born at flymouth, Devonshire, and was educated at Browning's College, Bath. He was connected with both the wholesale and retail drug trade in England, and held important" positions with Messrs Burgoyne, Bilshbidge, and Co., Ltd., Corbyn, Stacy and Co., Ltd., London, also Messrs Boot Ltd., Nottingham. Later he joined Mr D. S. Haynes, in partnership as manufacturing chemists, but in 1890 disposed of his interest and joined Messrs J. Bush and Co., Ltd., the wellknown firm of Essence and Essential Oil Manufacturers, as their Australian and New Zealand representative. Mr Finemore remained with Messrs Bush till -1595, when he entered into business as a manufacturers' agent in Sydney, representing several English houses, also Messrs Mauri Brothers and Thomson, Ltd., of Sydney. Later he joined the staff of the above firm and represented them in New Zealand till 1910. Mr Finemore then started in business again as manufacturers' agent and general merchant in Christchurch, the business being merged into a company in 1920 under the name of "Butlers (N.Z.\ Ltd.," with Mr Finemore as managing director. Two years ago he took an extensive business trip through America, England, and the Continent, and on his return to Christchurch. founded the firm of Harman P. Finemore and Co., Ltd., of which he was managing director at the time of his death. He was also a director of Home Recreations, Ltd., ChristehurchT The late Mr Finemore was a member of the Masonic Craft, being a member until recentlv of Lodge Tonic. Mr Finemore's nenltb had been failing for some time and his death, which was due to a heart attack, was not unexpected. The funeral will leave St. John's Church. Latrmer square, at 11 a.m. to-day for the Bromley Cemetery.
