RELIEF FOR RETURNED SOLDIERS.
AUCKLAND SUGGESTION. (rEESS ASSOCIATION TBLEGEAH.) AUCKLAND, April 29. The annual meeting of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association decided to send the following* remit to the annual conference in "Wellington: "That the War Council Funds Board and Canteen Board should distribute in the form of relief among ex-soldiers, portions of the interest, the money to come preferably out of the War Council funds." Mr S. A. Carr said that each board had about £200,000 to its credit. If the funds were nursed for the next 20 years, half the men would be dead. Mr Jorgensen said the wishes of the givers were being defeated. Funds were given with a primary view of helping returned men. Mr Carr: T. agree, but you have to tell that to the. Minister, two or three judges, and several lawyers in Wellington?"
