PAPANUI MEMORIAL HALL.

A public meeting was held last night at Papanui for the purpose of appointing a management committee for the Papanui Memorial Hall and Library. The City Council was represented by Crs. O. W. B. Anderson, and W. B. Leadley, Mr J. P. Eame3 and Mr J. Anderson. The chairman, Or 0. W. B. Anderson, explained the purpose of the meeting, 'pointing out that the award governing the hall management required that the City Council and Waimairi Council be represented by three-fifths and two-fifths respectively. Mr P. Bell moved that a committee of five bo recommended to the two Councils concerned. An amendment by Mr W. G. Chapman that the number be ten was carried. The following were nominated: Messrs J. Sturrock, B. Eickerby, A. Syme, WG. Chapman, R. Patrick. R. W. Hawke, G. Shipley, C. G. Derrett, S. Kruse, and W. Pool.
