H.M.S. VERONICA.

An official visit was paid to Commander E. 11. de Salig, on the arrival of the light cruiser Veronica at Lyttelton from Timsru yesterday, by the Mayor (Mr J. K. Archer), the Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville), the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr P. E. Sutton), and the Town Clerk (Mr F. Hobbs). - The Commander received the visitors in his quarters, and the ship's company entertained them at morning tea. Later Commander de Salis returned the call and, with two other officers, was entertained at luncheon at Warner's Hotel.
