PARCELS BY POST.
DELAY IN DELIVERY. Complaints were made by Mr F. W. Hobbs at last night's- meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce regarding the inconvenience of obtaining delivery of goods forwarded by parcel post from the Old Country. Delivery, he said, was very slow, only two or three people being admitted to the office at once. On occasions, there was a queue containing up to a dozen . people, and this was occurring month. after month. T&e Council had done , something on-a previous occasion, but . without result, and the matter should be- taken over the heads of the local \ officers to the Minister for Customs. : He moved: "That-the attention of the Minister be drawn to the very uni " businesslike methods existing here in > connexion with obtaining goods through - the Customs branch of the parcels > P °Mr TV*. Bottreil, who seconded the motion, said he knew that drapery fir'] I '' which were obtaining goods through the • parcels, post were having a great deal r of trouble.
