TRAMWAY BOARD.
YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The Tramway Board met yesterday. Present: Messrs A. S. Taylor (chairman), Geo. T. Booth, J. A. Flesher, 11. Pearce, John Wood, D. Sykes, W. J. Walter, and the •Hon. 'Mr Barr, M.L.C. The Works and Traffic Committee reported that it had been deoided to remove certain poles left out of alignment consequent on alterations and improvements earned out u> Heathcote County Council to Cashmere road, near Barrington street; tho Heathcote County Council had agreed to subscribe £2O. Two poles on Hackthorne road in the centre of the footpath (which was constructed after the note, were erected) also will be removed. The City Council was unable to sanction the coverin» over of .the side channel at the Bryndwr bus stop in Cathedral square. The report was adoptedThe executive of the Royal Visit Reception Committee wrote expressing itsthanks for and appreciation of, the Board s co ope'raLn and assistance during the Royal visit not only in respect of the decorations, in providing reduced fares for he childrer? attending the demonstration on the Bh T°he Sumnet Burgesses' Association wrote thanking the Board for spesding-up the serthe back of the square.
