FOOTBALL.

ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meetins of the Management Commute* o: the Canterbury Football Association was held last night, Sir K. English presiding. Others present were: Dr. J. T>. Marts, Messrs F. L. Eastgate, R. B. Walker. C. E, Keys, A. Bassett, J. S. Jenkinson, J. Stout, X. Jackson, J. P. Flood, J. A. Robb, B. 0. Priddis, E. J. Norman, G. K. Towart, H. Smythc, and R. B. Buut (secretary). Mr H. Donaldson, secretary of the Ashburton Board of Control, was present at the meeting, and referred to the proposed affiliation of the Board to the C.F.A. He stated that were the Board so affiliated, it would mean raoro visits from Christehurch teams than they had previously had from Timoru, and this was the main reason why they desired to affiliate. The game was progressing favourably in Ashburton, but the Board felt that it was not getting the support that it should from South Canterbury. He had no knowledge of an Ashburton team plaving in the competitions here, but it was more with the idea of obtaining friendly games in Ashburton. The chairman pointed out luat it might be possible to send a team, comprised of players from the various clubs, to Ashburton. If there was any possibility of a team being sent, they 6hould give the matter every consideration. A motion was carried that the secretary take the necessary steps to enable the Ashburton Board of Control to affiliate with the C.F.A. Permission was granted the Xcw Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Cricket Club the use of- a wicket on English park on April 15th, the occasion of the annual cricket match with the Canterbury Farmers, Timaru. The Excelsior Club's entry into the junior grade was accepted. The Sunnysido Football Club wrote that it would be able to play away from its home ground, and submitted a list of dates for such games. The letter was referred to the Match Committee. Motions of sympathy wero passed with <ho relatives of the late Mrs Crowder and the late Mr Bentley. The following sub-committees were elected: • —Finance, Dr. Marks, Messrs English, Bunt, W. D. Ramsay, P. L. Davies, and Walker; match, Mussrs Bassett, Stout, and Robb; classification, Messrs Towart, Keys, and Jenkinson; grounds, Messrs Priddis and H. Jackson; postponement, Messrs Robb and Norman; entertainment, Messrs Eastgate, Priddis. and Flood; advertising, Messrs Priddis and Eastgate. Mr Norman was elected sole selector tor the senior grade. Competition Entries. The following entries have been received for the C.F.A. competitions:—Seniors: Sunnyside, Technical Old Boys, New Brighton, Western, Villa, Thistle, Kaiapoi, Lyttelton, Nomads, St. Albans. Junior grade: Western, Thistle (2), New Brighton, Bangers, Technical Old Boys, Spreydon, Y.M.C.A., MBrists, St, Albans. Third grade. Technical Old Boys, Spreydon, Marists. Fourth grade: Y.M.C.A., Marists, Technical Old Boys, Western. Fifth grnde: Spreydon, Marists. Y.M.C.A., Western. Sixth grade: Marists, St. Michael's. Saturday's Hatches. The following is the draw for Saturday:— Seniors, at 2.45 p.m.—Technical Old Boys v. St. Albans, at Ensor's road No. 1 (Mr H.'Smythe); Villa v. Lyttelton, at Heathcote (Mr J. Jennings); New Brighton v. Nomads, at North Park No. 1 (Mr M. Wilson); Western v. Thistle, at English Park (Mr W. Campbell); Kaiapoi v. Sunnyside, at Sunnysido (Mr J. Stout). Juniors, at 2.45 p.m.—Western v. St. Albans, at Richmond No. 1 (Mr W. Trnsttum); Excelsior v. Spreydon, at Spreydon Domain (Mr Thornley); Y.M.C.A, v. Sumner, at North Park No. 4; New Brighton v. Rangers, at North Park No. 3; Marists v. Technical Old Boys, at Ensor's road No. 2; Thistle B v. Thistle A, at North Park No. 2 (Mr R. Black). It was decided that no matches be played on Easter Saturday.
