.MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Council of the Canterbury Automobile Association met last night. when thero were present: Me.-:srs F. "W. Freeman (chairman), 11. C. Harloy, G. S. Morris, 11. E. Kennctt, F. D. Sargent, V. W. Russell, 11. M. Garrick, W. R. Carey, and J. L. Danks. Tile Royal Reception Commitcc wrote thanking the Association for the services of its members for providing transport for disabled soldiers to the recent garden fete during the Royal visit. Thirty-one new members were elected," 299 new members having been enrolled since the beginning of the new financial year. It was decided to send a wreath to the Anzac Day celebrations. A motion was carried expressing regret that the City Council was unable to agree to the Association's proposal that street channels should be covered in and hoping that the matter would be cone info when the report of the City Engineer (Mr A. R. Galbraith) on the roadtng question was being considered. It was decided to send out circulars of the report dealing with the Safety First Campaign.
