PERSONAL (SPECIAL TO THE PRESS.) GREYMOUTH, March 10. The Hon. Mr Williams, Minister for Public Works, is expected to visit the West Coast shortly to perform the official opening of the new traffic bridge at Waiho. Messrs J. McPliee and J. Booth left this morning to attend the conference of Druids, which opens in Palmerston North on Monday. Sister Kennedy, of the ftewa Maternity Home, who has been visiting her relatives in Lobum, wiil return tomorrow. The Hon. Mr Michel, M.L.C., and Mr T. W. Bruce, secretary of the Westland Hospital, were passengers by today *8 express to Hokitika. Among the outward passengers by today's express were Misses E. Rice, Kodnell, Mesdames A. Addison, C. MeKcchnie, P. Payne, Messrs. G. D. Smart, Robertson, and Farquliar. Mr and Mrs G. Mercer arrived this afternoon from Patea, and are the guests of Mrs L. Mercer, High street. Mr W. Holmes, formerly of the linotype department of the "Manawatu Times," who has been visiting relatives in Greymouth, leaves by to-morrow's express en route iO Auckland, where he joins the linotypo department of the "Sun" newspaper office. Miss Alice Maloncy, of Araliura, has received an appointment in the Health Department as probationary dental nurse, and has left for Wellington. _ Miss Dorothy Barson, of Christchurch, arrived this afternoon on a visit to friends in Greymouth. .Mr and Mrs Gerald Sheldon, who liave been visiting relatives in Greymouth, left this morning for Winchester. Mr W. Horn, workshop foreman of Addington Workshop, who has been doing relieving duty in Greymouth, will return on Tuesday. The Rev. Dr. Sadlier, Bishop of Nelson, will arrive in Reefton on March 26th, and will preach at St. Stephen's harvest festival on the following day. Mr J. 0. Hanlon, formerly of the literary staff of the Grey River "Argus," lias joined the literary staff of the Sydney "Sun." Mr Ernest Satchell of the literary staff of the Grey River "Argus," will I leave on Saturday for Auckland, where I he has accepted an appointment on the i literary staff of the "New Zealand I Herald."

Borough Diamond Jubilee. It is understood that the occasion of the diamond jubilee of the Borough of Greymouth, occurs in June next, vvili be made the subject for special celebrations. Motor-Cycling. Some twenty-eight motor-cyclists will make the trip from Greymouth to Nel* son for the motor-cyclo sports. Among the party is Cyril Neville, a promising Greymouth rider, who is engaged in several events. Fire at Murchison. A garage and two motor-cars, owned by Mr A. "W. Dance, were completely destroyed by fire at Murchison yesterday. Owing to the absence of flrefighting appliances it was impossible to Subdue the outbreak, and it was only by the strenuous efforts of a volunteer bucket brigade that the flames Were prevented from spreading to the Commercial Hotel, which was seriously threatened. Both cars were insured.
