PERSONAL. l)r. and Mrs Holmes, anil Dr. and Mrs Devine. who came over from Australia to attend the Medical Conference at Dunedin, were in Temuka for the week-end, staving at the Crown Hotel. Mr and Mrs Elliott, of England, are staying at the Crown Hotel. Hew Tennis Courts. The work of laying down the new tennis courts for the Presbyterian Church on the railway reserve at Railway terrace is now proceeding apace. The reserve covers an area of about half an acre, and the space for two courts, 94 feet by SO feet, which allows for a few feet each end to sparo, lias been taken down to tho solid clay foundation, and the first layer of two inches of asphalt placed in position. Tlub will be top-dressed and tarred and sanded, and a fall of fivo inches has been allowed to each end from the centre to prevent water lodging 011 tho court. An extra 7J feet of grass lawn is being provided for at each end, and the balance of the area is to bo put down in grass for a croquet lawn. Tho contractors, Messrs J. F. Daly and P. Moran, have been most painstaking in their work. New Buildings. The new chancel of the St. Peter's Anglican Church, Temuka, is now Hearing completion, tho contractors, Messrs Harding and Co., expecting to finish about the end of next week. The now addition to the church wilj bo dedicated in due course by tho Bishop of Christclmrch. The concrete foundations of the new grain storo for tho Temuka Flourmilling Co. have been placed in position, and the builder, Mr R. Jamieson, is'proceeding with tho erection of the building.
