UNIFORM HOURS.
SUGGESTION FOB BUILDERS.
"The idea of uniform working hours was gone into, and it is hoped that something will eventuate later, so that all trades on jobs will start and stop work at the same time." The foregoing paragraph was contained in the annual report of the Building and Allied Trades Association, the annual meeting of which was held last evening. Mr \V. H. Winsor said that when taking cases before the Arbitration Court, each section should bear in mind the advantages of a uniform lunch hour and strive for its attainment. If this was achieved all of the men on a job would cease work when the builders' foreman knocked off his men. It did not pay to have plasterera, electricians, and other ra ° M j men working after the builders had gone, and no self-respecting builder would allow it.
