THE TRAMWAYS.
MEETING OF BOARD. The Christchurcli Tramway Board met yesterday, when there were present: Mr A. S. Taylor (chairman), D. Sykes, G. T. Booth, H. Penrce. J. A. Flesher, E. W. White, J. Wood, and the Hon. J. Barr, M.1..C. Tlie Rnynl Reception Committee wrote askin; the Board to provide special ears for school-children on the occasion of the demonstration in llagley Pork on March J 4th. The letter was received and referred to the Works and Traffic Committee with powe» to act. The Xew Brighton Borough Council wrote seeking the co-operation of the Board in the direction of approaching the Main Highways Board fur a subsidy in connexion with Page's road. It was decided to give all the assistance possible. The Works and Traffic Committee reported that at the request of the New Brighton Gala Committee, the committee had decided to grant ti bonus on increased traffic, on the usual term-;, on the occasion of the gala on January C2nd. The committee had obtained permission from the Jockey Club and the Railway Hepartment for the erection of a shelter for waitinpassengers at Sockburn. The report was adopted.
