SWIMMING.
RUAPUNA SPORTS. Another successful swimming contest took place at the Ruapuna Club's baths on Saturday evening. Great credit is due to the handicapper, Mr P. Tasker, for close finishes. All the events were keenly contested. The results are as follows: 25ydB Boys' Handicap—G. King (Usee) 1, George King (Bsec), and Gordon Boss (lOsec), equal, 2. > 33 l-3yds Boys' Breaststroke HandicapGeorge King (7sec) 1, G. King (lOsec) 2, A. McLay (scr) 3. 33 l-3yds Free Style Handicap—S. Eltont (3sec) and H. Nelmcs (6sec), dead heat, 1, J. Nolmcs (6sec) 3. 66 2-3 yds Breaststroke Handicap—D. Glassey (ssec) 1, H. Nelmes (scr) 2, I. Lambie (scr) 3. At a subsequent committee meeting it was decided to hold ladies' and girls' events on alternate Saturdays, and to fix ladies' hours for bathing at from noon till 6 p.m. ovory day excepting Tuesday and Thursday, when the timo will be 9 p.m. The president (Mr G. Ross), was instructed to purchase the cups for aggregate points this week, and to obtain a trophy of the value of a guinea for the ladles' competition.
50 YARDS CHAMPIONSHIP. (PBXSS ASSOCIATION TBLIOEAM.) AUCKLAND, January 17. The fifty yards Bwimming championship of Auckland was decided to-night, Adamson winning, and thus retaining the title. Enwright waß second and Fairgray third. Won by a yard.' Time, 26sec.
