SOCIETY OF BELLRINGERS.

The half-yearly' meeting of the Ohristchurch Cathedral Society of Bellringers was held in the Ringing Chamber on Wednesday. His Lordship the Bishop of Obristchurch was in the chair, and the following were present: The Very Rev. the Dean, Messrs Claydon, Oußdin, Lang, Kerr, Grant, and Sloan (secretary). The question of the resignation of Mr G. H. Claydon, Master of the Society, was held over til) the next meeting. Different members stressed the importance of having the louvres in the tower sealed up in order to let the sound go through the top. The result would then be that the bells would be heard further away, and not appear to be so loud in the Square. It was decided that the secretary write to the Cathedral Chapter, asking them to consider clos% tho louvres temporarily for a trial. It was also decided that Mr Olaydon inspect "the condition of the bells and report to the Chapter.
