PRICE OF WHEAT.
TO THE EDITOR 0? "THE TRE3S." Sir, —"Merchant" states in your issue of 30th that' my farts regarding the price of wheat are wrong. Strangely enough, in the column nest to that in which his letter appeared, is the quotation for Australian wheat, viz., "5& 8d for bagged grain at country sidings." Since I ■ wrote you, the price advanced 2d per bushel, so my quotation of os 6d was correct at the time. Dominion farmers ask 7s "for bagged grain at country sidings," so the comparison is right. In the same paragraph is* given the price "ex trucks Sydney," but that does not affect,my question as I was comparing the prices demanded by tho farmer—l repeat why docs the New Zealand farmer want 7s for his wheat when his Australian neighbour only gets 5s 6d or os Bd. As I said before, there might be a good reason. Will farmers explain?— Yours, etc.. LABOUR.
