BACK FROM DUNEDIN.
MR COATES IN TOWN. The Prime Minister, accompanied by Mr F. D. Thomson, secretary of the Prime Minister's, Department, arrived last night from Dttnedin, where he had been attending the Exhibition closing ceremony. At 10.30 a.m. to-day Mr Ooates will receive a deputation from the Ashley River Trust, introduced by Mr D. Buddo, M.P. in the afternoon he will attend the garden party to be given at Meadswbank, Ellesmere, by kind permission of Captain Tahu Rhodes, in honour of Sir Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., and Lady Rhodes, by Sir Beaton's former constituents, and in the even* ing will be present at the banquet to be tendered them at Lake road. Mr Coates will return to Wellington to-morrow evening.
