RICCARTON. The Kiccanon Borough Council met las; n'>hi. Those present- were:—Messrs H. S. sTk-.-Ic, M.l\ (Msyor\ L. W. Austin (Town Clerk'. A. F. Fisher, A. E. Sleeve, H. Gudsdl. H. Manlike. H. W. Wise, T. M.. Ford, nnd J. F. I'etcrs. The chnirman reported that the. conference with Mrs H. llhodea regarding _ Maudeville street corner had been successful. The corner would be rounded off as soon as P °The Works Committee reported that Si raven s'rret had been senritied, recrowucd, and V-'Hed th-.-oughmit. The committee recommended that notice should be served nvxv.i persons who had motor parages which did n't conform {n (he by-law; also tha the Council should notify residents that nroceodinsrs would he instituted against persons failing to place numbers on £:ate iw«ti or other conspicuous places. The Fleetrioitv Committee reported that twebo consumers had been connected to the su.n>!v. one cooker had been installed nnd three' water heaters. '1 he linesmen, had been cmplovcd on the erection of new heavy ~mim along Hiccarton road, lwenty-four street lamps had been replaced. The Finance Committee recommended that accounts, amounting to £1382 10s Id, bo ™«ed for payment. It also reported that the Trwn Clerk had been authorised to purchase one Ellam's rotary duplicator. The reports were adopted. A letter was received from the Uirwchurch Drainage Board, stating that the Tv-ndl agreed to the laying of a subsidiary sewer along Riccarton road.
