The Volga's upper tributaries have overflowed their banks, and tho river Klazma has flooded the town of Orekhova. Eight persons were drowned, and eleven bridges destroyed. Many textile mills were rendered idle. Loss of life is also reported from Rybinsk, where the Volga is 50 feet above its usual level. Scores of villages are flooded, and the inhabitants are taking refuge on the roofs. Detachments of tho Red • Army are blowing up ice jams in tho rivers in order that the waters should flow in their natural course.
