Tho Now Zealand Drivers' Federation decided at tho recent annual conference of tho Federation, to secede iron, the Alliance of Labour. He states that, although the delegates to ho annual conference tarried a resolution to secede from tl.e Alliance, the advocates of the secession policy did not allow a representative of the Alliance to discuss the matter with them. Commenting on the ballot proposal, Mr Roberts said that" to submit a question bv ballot which had already been decided bv the delegates was one of the methods Labour could not approve of Tt was undemocratic, for the reason that the delegates had prejudiced the case bv first passing a resolution. If the question was to be submitted to the drivers, it should bo submitted nlainlv and definitely, without prejudicing the case one wav or the other before the ballot was taken.
