The gold and silver trado of Britain at present is so stagnant) that the Goldsmiths' Company havo started a, scheme for the improvement of . the design .of domestie plate and organised a competition among workers for designs of racing cups and. trophies,, inviting other designers to submit original models of domestic plate for inspection. An eminent hoard of judges is promising to place orders for completion of tho selected designs in precious metals.
