FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.

MAORI KILLED. (rr.ESS ASSOCIATION TELEOSAM.) NELSON, January 30. A fatal motor accident occurred on Rocks road late on Saturday evening, when Reuben Stevens, an adult Maori from the Maori Pa, driver of the car, was injured, and a passenger, Mason Bailey, a Maori, aged 19, was killed. After rounding magazine Point on Rocks road, the car swerved to the cliff side of the road, then headed almost straight for the sea wail, breaking the guard chains on the wall, and falling nose first, into the rocks on the seashoro below, a distance of about six feet. The car struck head first, then turned over with the head facing the shore. Mason Bailey was pinned underneath and drowned. Stevens is suffering from slight injuries, and from cold, and exposure. It is feared complications may set in. Two boys, Jack Francis Heath and Arthur Nevill Heath, who were also in tho car, escaped almost uninjured.
