BRITISH BOWLERS.
FAREWELL SCENES. ''Will Wo No Come Back Again?"— "Yes, .We Will Come Back Again." Such was the burden of a song sung at the Christchurch Railway Station on Saturday morning by the British team of bowlers prior io their departure for tho West Coast by the Midland express, and the manner in which they laid emphasis on tho answer to their own question was proof that they had enjoyed their stay in Christchurch. There was < a, large crowd of local bowlers present to bid them good-byo and good luck, and in fact it is seldom that such a demonstration of friendship, formed during a brief visit to this City, has been seen. Mr T. W. Ambrose, president of the Christchurch Bowling Centre, was among those _ present, and there was also a considerable number of ladies on the station. After the visitors liad shaken hands with their Christchurch male friends, and some of them had kissed the ladies and their daughters, they boarded the train and sang some of the choruses for which they have gained a reputation, including the popular one concerning Mary and her limb, which was wont, according to the ditty, to follow her about the battle cry of freedom." "Auld Lang Syno" was also sung, and as the train steamed out of the station hearty cheers were given, tho visitors then settling down no doubt to wonder whether tho hospitality for which the Coast is so well famed would exceed that of Christchurch.
